This book with 192 pages and over 300 B/W and color illustrations presents the jewelry creations of Paul Brandt (1883 - 1952).
An iconic artist of the 1920s, Paul Brandt played a major role in the revival of modern jewelry and decorative arts. Recognized by his peers, he worked alongside the biggest names, such as Fouquet, Templier and Sandoz.
This first monograph retraces his entire career, drawing on unprecedented iconography and research.
Born in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland, Paul Brandt moved to Paris at a young age, where he pursued an eclectic education. Seduced by applied arts, he specialized in the creation of jewelry. First in Art Nouveau, then Art Deco style, he participated in the various artistic events that brought the capital to life. Each year, its windows stand out, luminous with modernity, in avant-garde scenographies in which the greatest architects of the time collaborate, such as Éric Bagge and Djo-Bourgeois.
His participation in the 1925 International Exhibition of Decorative Arts brought him international renown. From the 1930s onward, he returned to a more industrial art and expanded his practice to interior design.
Paul Brandt is today one of the most respected and sought-after artists by dealers and specialists in modern jewelry, as evidenced by the enthusiasm for his creations on the art market.

Né à La Chaux-de-Fonds, en Suisse, Paul Brandt s'installe très jeune à Paris, où il poursuit une formation éclectique. Séduit par les arts appliqués, il se spécialise dans la création de bijoux. D'abord dans un style Art nouveau, puis Art déco, il participe aux différents événements artistiques qui animent la capitale. Chaque année, ses vitrines se détachent, lumineuses de modernité, dans des scénographies avant-gardistes auxquelles collaborent les plus grands architectes de l'époque, tels qu'Éric Bagge et Djo-Bourgeois.
Sa participation à l'Exposition internationale des arts décoratifs de 1925 le gratifie d'une renommée internationale. À partir des années 1930, il revient à un art plus industriel et étend son activité à la décoration intérieure.
Paul Brandt est aujourd'hui un des artistes les plus respectés et recherchés par les marchands et les spécialistes de la joaillerie moderne, comme en témoigne l'engouement pour ses créations sur le marché de l'art.
